This service is developmental and offered without warranty or guarantee.

This service monitors power for both emergency and standard outlets.

Electronic mail alerts are offerred to interested individuals.

Electronic mail alerts are issued for both types of outlets.

This service monitors power for standard outlets with grey wall plates via a
representative outlet located on the 2nd floor of MBH in the Science Library.

This service monitors power for emergency outlets with red wall plates via a
representative outlet located on the 7th floor of MBH in the Observatory.

Power will generally be restored to emergency outlets before it is restored to
standard outlets in the event of a prolonged power interruption.

This service involves a daemon running on a linux machine that monitors an
uninterruptible power supply connected via universal serial bus.

This service checks power status every minute but should report both in-progress
power interruptions and power interruptions that occur between status checks.

The underlying daemon checks power status every five seconds but should report
both in-progress power interruptions and power interruptions that occur between
status checks.

This service should generally report in-progress power interruptions as upstream
network and communications services are generally isolated from power
interruptions.

This service should report past power interruptions upon restoration of network
and communications services in the event that they are not immediately reported.

This service is limited by the provision of several upstream network and
communications services.

This service may not report exceeding brief power outages.

This service may not report power restorations in the event of extended outages.

This service may be tested aperiodically.
