The Middlebury College
women's golf team, in its first season of
official varsity status, picked up a
convincing win at the Williams Fall
Tournament. The Panthers shot 324 on the

Elmira.
Middlebury dominated the
field, placing four of its five golfers in
the top four overall. First-year player
Heather Gallagher (Toronto, Ont.) turned
in an impressive finish as she captured
individual honors with a 75, 10 strokes
ahead of her nearest competitor. Placing
second was senior Emily Lord (Weston,
Mass.) with an 85, followed by twins Kerry
and Allison Ortega (Clinton, N.Y.), who
both shot 87's, tying them for third
place. Rounding out the Middlebury squad
was sophomore Sarah Hartman (Tulsa,
Okla.), with a 97.
