Entering
in her 21st year of coaching
field hockey at Middlebury, Foote
has cultivated a field hockey
program rivaling any in the
Northeast. In addition to her
career record of 174-86-12, she
was named the Division III
regional and National Coach of
the Year in '94 and in
'98.
Foote
focuses on the development of
fitness and field awareness in
her players, with a major
emphasis placed on team unity.
She has led Panther teams to five
ECAC post-season appearances and
three NCAA Tournaments, including
the '98 National
Championship.
A
graduate of Springfield College
in 1974, Foote coached field
hockey and basketball at Green
Mountain Union High School in
Chester, Vermont, before joining
the Middlebury College staff in
1977. Foote has also coached for
U.S. Field Hockey Association
development camps and futures
programs.
Foote
also serves as head coach of the
Middlebury women's lacrosse team
in the spring, leading the team
to the '97 and '99 NCAA National
Championship. She has also led
the team to the NCAA semifinals
in '94, '95, '96, and '98 along
with two ECAC Championships in
'91 and '92. She was named the
Division III Lacrosse National
Coach of the Year in '94 and '97,
and the regional coach of the
year in '92, '95, and
'98.
